Hi, I'm Oliver, the founder of Sprucen.

I've always enjoyed fixing, building and improving things. Even during my 14 years as a teacher, I spent my spare time learning practical skills and renovating my own home, including a complete renovation of my first two-bedroom flat in London.

In 2024, I took a planned career break to restore an uninhabitable cottage I had bought at auction back home in the Holme Valley. It was a challenging but hugely rewarding project, and it made me realise that helping people improve their homes is what I genuinely love doing.

I started Sprucen because I believe every job deserves care and attention. I'm not interested in rushing work or cutting corners. I treat every home with the same respect I'd expect in my own, turning up when I say I will, communicating honestly, and leaving every job finished to a standard I'm proud to put my name to.
